Fantasy Football Team Names - 2014 Movies Edition

Movies are a great source of entertainment for millions of people. For fantasy football players, Sunday’s are the best days of the week. The best fantasy team names use inspiration from players, teams, movies, music, and current events, mixed with comedy and other positive features. When it comes to movies and fantasy names, whether you use a classic movie or something new as inspiration, there are many great names to use for the upcoming season.

Planet of the Gapes
Earlier this year, The Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, was released in theatres and became an easy movie to use for inspiration. If you don’t know what this name is implying though, ask a friend and they may be able to explain what a gape is.

In-GOREious Bastards
Inglorious Bastards was a hilarious movie released in 2009 starring Brad Pitt, Christopher Waltz, and Michael Fassbender. Frank Gore is a top tier running back in the National Football League for the San Francisco 49ers. When it comes to some movies and players, the combinations just fit so well.

50 Shades of Clay
Women around the world are anticipating the release of 50 Shades of Grey next year. For many, the trailer that was released a few weeks back will be enough to hold them over, but for the fantasy football player, especially those fans of the Green Bay Packers, this name can be yours for the upcoming season.

Dezervoir Dogs
One of the biggest cult movies of all time is Reservoir Dogs. The independent classic is the perfect inspiration for this name that also stars Dez Bryant from the Dallas Cowboys.

Three Men and A Little Lacy
Another classic movie that can be used for inspiration this fantasy season is Three Men and a Baby, starring Tom Selleck, Ted Danson, and Steve Guttenberg. Just replace the word baby and add Lacy, as in Eddie Lacy from the Packers, and you have a perfect fantasy name.

Obi-Wan Jacoby
Jacoby Jones instantly became a star in the NFL in the Super Bowl two seasons ago. His success in the league, coupled with Obi-Wan Kenobi from Star Wars make for a nice fantasy name.

Romo and Juliot
The William Shakespeare play, Romeo and Juliet, is where this fantasy team name featuring Tony Romo and Julio Jones. If Romo and Jones were ever on the same team, it would be an unstoppable force offensively

Full Nelson Jacket
Full Metal Jacket is the Stanley Kubrick classic from 1987. Jordy Nelson is a talented receiver that has turned into a top-level wide receiver and this name is perfect for a movie loving Packer fan.

You Kuhn Do It
Another Packer that can be used as inspiration is Packer fullback, John Kuhn. The line, “You Can Do It,” is the famous line from John Schneider in many of the Adam Sandler movies.

How the Lynch Stole Christmas
Marshawn Lynch is the man who terrorizes defenses every Sunday and the Grinch used to be the character that stole Christmas. It may not be the holiday season until the end of the fantasy season, but this is still a name that can be used by Seattle Seahawk fans.
