The running back position has long been the most popular and needed spot for a fantasy lineup. In leagues where fantasy managers decide that they will use points per receptions, top tier running backs are that much more important. On draft day in many leagues, benches are filled with third string rushers just in case something serious happens. It is those top tier quarterbacks that are also usually the focal point of the team in terms of their fantasy names, but what are the best for your team this season using the best running backs in the league.

Tickle Me Al-Mo
Alfred Morris is on the outside looking in when it comes to top tier rushers. He has only been in the league two seasons thus far, but has already totaled close to 2,900 yards on the ground with 20 touchdowns. This fantasy name is a funny one using the children’s character, Elmo, as inspiration.

Arian of the Eyrie
Arian Foster may have suffered a down season a year ago because of injury, but any Game of Thrones fan will be happy to use this name for the upcoming season, especially if they plan on having Foster be their number one pick.

A. Foster – Australian for TD
Another Arian Foster name is this hilarious name. For anyone that has ever had the Australian beer, you are already a fan of the product and should be happy about having Foster on your roster.

Sprolin on 24’s
Darren Sproles will be spending his first season with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2014 and while he won’t be the go-to guy with LeSean McCoy on the roster, he will still excel and can still be considered a top tier rusher. Let us not forget that any football player has enough money in the bank to be rolling on 24’s as this name will lead us to believe.

DEMARCO! Polo
DeMarco Murray is a stud when it comes to younger running backs. The former Oklahoma Sooner product has a name that works perfectly with the swimming pool game, marco polo.

Teach Me How to Dougie Martin
Since he plays with the lowly Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Doug Martin and his abilities are often forgotten in the football world. He only played six games a year ago because of injury, but we here at Fantasy Football Team Names believe that he spent his time perfecting the Dougie.

Do the Dougie
This team name obviously is very similar to the above name for Doug Martin, but they are just so easy and so good to ignore.

Don’t Lace Me Bro
When the Green Bay Packers drafted Eddie Lacy, he was set to be another talented player in a talent-rich offensive system. As a rookie, he showed that he wasn’t going to waste his talent, rushing for 1,178 yards and 11 touchdowns. For anyone under a rock, this team name is related to the incident in Florida where a student was tasered by security at a John Kerry forum.

Diamonds Are Gorever
For female fantasy football players, this is a perfect name to use. A lady’s best friend is usually the diamonds that can be found on her finger, around her neck, or in her ears, but when you use your first or second pick on Frank Gore, the same can be said.

When it Waynes, It Gores
This is a name that can be linked to Reggie Wayne or Frank Gore, so of course, for the sake of this article, we are talking about the latter. For fantasy players watching Gore put up big numbers each week when he is in the opposing lineup, this is what it must feel like.

Gore Score and 7 Yards Ago
Who doesn’t love a little history mixed with their fantasy sports. With this name, you get the best of both worlds with one of the greatest speeches in American history and one of the most talented running backs in the sport.

Hard Gore
This might be vulgar to some, but for others, it is just right. Being a little Hard Gore will go a long way in the fantasy football world and if you play your cards right, the real world too.

Drinkin’ Fortes
With Matt Forte running in the backfield for the Chicago Bears, they should always be contenders in the NFC North. When the time comes and he isn’t in the backfield anymore, he will be sitting on the sidelines drinking 40’s.

Edward Fortehands
Anybody looking for a fantasy team name related to the movie Edward Scissorhands will want to use this unique entry. There aren’t many other NFL players who can have their name inserted into the movie title like Matt Forte.

How The Lynch Stole Christmas
It may not be Christmas when the time comes to name your fantasy football team for the 2014 season, but that doesn’t mean you can’t think holidays. San Francisco 49ers fans know all about Marshawn Lynch being the Grinch last season and this season could be more of the same.

Marshawn of the Dead
This Marshawn Lynch fantasy football team name is based off the popular zombie movie, Shaun of the Dead. Kind of like Lynch will steal Christmas away from some NFL fans this season, he will also make opposing defenses look as though they are zombies.

For Kicks and Skittles
Another Marshawn Lynch themed name is this funny name. Lynch has admitted to enjoying his Skittles here or there including on the field and this name is a spin-off of the old saying, “kicks and giggles.”

Ultra-Violent Ray
Ray Rice will miss the first two games of the 2014 NFL season because of suspension, but that won’t stop his haters from using it. That is usually what happens when you get arrested for beating up your fiancé and have cameras around.

I Have a Rice Beater On
This Ray Rice themed name also links his offseason troubles, but be careful if there are any softies in your fantasy league. This is a name that is sure to cause some trouble for you with the wrong people.

Motion in the Knowshon
Knowshon Moreno is the top rusher for the Denver Broncos is the inspiration behind this fantasy team name. When he tries to juke and jive defenders, he is showing his motion in the Knowshon.
